TIER 12

Dragons: mightiest of all creatures to ever roam the Earth.

While all mortal beings must eventually meet their end at the hands of Death, these legendary creatures are sometimes raised to continue their legacy by the means of vile and dark magics, resulting in the creation of Bone Dragons.

Many undead creatures or constructs can be re-animated using a haphazard collection of bones and other body parts. But in order to raise a dragon into undeath, one must perform extremely intricate and dangerous spells, using only the full skeleton of a single dragon (without the inclusion of any foreign material) – otherwise the spell will fail, or worse, backfire catastrophically.

In life, dragons are feared because of their immense physical strength and sheer size. Additionally, most dragons can also exhale breaths of burning flame or chilling frost, and some dragons are able to cast powerful spells on a scale unparalleled by any other creature. In death however, these last two abilities are lost, since the magical essences that power their breath weapons and arcane arts dissipate when they die. Nonetheless, Bone Dragons are still formidable foes, as their bones are one of the toughest known materials: invulnerable to damage and decay, and very much protected against magical attacks. Imbued with dark energy, Bone Dragons are also partly ethereal, earning themselves the title of “Ghost Dragons”.

Strongest of the creatures in the Element of Dark, Bone Dragons strike terror into the hearts of their enemies as they swoop over the battlefield. Once they land, they use their teeth, claws and tail to devastating effect. Unlike lesser undead, Bone Dragons are not rendered useless when the necromancers who animated them are dead. Instead, they will continue to unleash terrible fury on the battlefield until those who oppose them figure out a way to destroy them – bone by bone.
