Her name loosely translates to the Phantom Queen, an epithet wisely given for she swoops over the battlefield like a shroud of darkness, feasting off all negative emotions that amass there - fear, hatred, death and sorrow.

 

She is also known as the Crow Goddess. Crows are often seen gathering around dead bodies, an embodiment of the Morrigan presiding over the battlefield. She grows strong and powerful whenever someone dies. The more she feasts on the negative emotions over the battlefield, the more powerful she becomes.

 

There is but one original Morrigan. All the Morrigans that come under the wing of the Element of Dark, are the offsprings of the one true Crow Goddess. Due to the entwining threads of fates, the Gods' decision to leave the mortal plane as well as the invasion of Chaos, the actual Morrigan has faded away. Not before she left her legacy behind, however.

 

It is rumored that every feather of hers that falls on the battlefield will create a dire crow, a pet of hers that is more vicious than any normal crow. As time went by, these dire crows evolved into miniature versions of their mother. Though not as powerful as the Goddess herself, these Morrigans still relish in the pain and sorrow felt in every battlefield that evokes their presence.
