Stymphalian Birds are tiny feathered creatures infused with bronze. They use their razor-sharp claws and their weirdly shaped beaks to attack and possibly maim a victim.

Rumored to be pets of Artemis and brought up by Ares, these creatures are vicious. Feeding primarily on flesh, Stymphalian Birds have a natural instinct to hunt in packs. They will not stop in their attack until they are satiated; the only thing known to deter them or to chase them away is loud noises.

After Hercules defeated most of these creatures, some patrons of the Light took pity on them - Zeus and Ra in particular. They infused the remaining population with the Element of Light, allowing them to be tamed and nurtured by the followers and worshippers of this Element.

This new breed listens only to their trainers. They fly fast, leaving tiny streaks of light in their wake. Once they reach their target, the original instinct of the Stymphalian Birds kicks in, clawing, pecking and gouging at their enemies until only bones are left.
