TIER 11
The size of a Kraken has always been up for debate. Multiple records present in the libraries of the Guardians have listed the Kraken to be a legendary sea monster of immense proportion - even the term "Giant Squid" is ill-fitting for such a creature. Some records, however, stated otherwise; they are so insignificant that they can fit into the palm of your hand. Only those in the Element of Water know better...
The Kraken do resemble a squid, complete with ten tentacles. The tentacles are not only long, but they are very strong as well. Suckers run down the length of the underside, and whatever the tentacles hold on to will not have a chance of escape. The ends of the tentacles are surprisingly sharp, able to cut through the hulls of ships, if the tentacles have not already smashed them into pieces. Large eyes give the Kraken extremely good vision, even in the lightless depths of the water, and a huge, razor-sharp beak makes the Kraken a formidable foe indeed.
All similarities end there, however. Other than its size, a Kraken looks very different from a squid head down. Instead of being torpedo-shaped, a Kraken has a huge body divided into two parts. The first part looks like the mantle of a squid, but instead of being horizontal in length, the mantle rests almost vertically above the head. It is covered with sharp horns, seemingly acting like a sort of frill, or shield, to protect itself with, or to show its aggression when necessary. The other part resembles the body of a whale that ends with a powerful triangular tail, complete with two gigantic flippers to aid it propelling through the water.
Krakens are few and they rarely procreate. The armies of the Element of Water rarely use them in war. However, Krakens are ancient, able to live for eons. In battle, the Krakens strike from the depths unseen, sending their tentacles hurtling towards the surface, destroying anything that are within reach. The lucky ones die immediately, and the unlucky ones are then dragged down under, into the wide maws of death.
