TIER 10
All creatures under any Element work tirelessly, serving their Patrons and the Guardian, as well as protecting their the very Element they come under. However, every so often, there will be some who will fall, either by the whispery temptations of Chaos, or by their own misguided intentions. Charybdis is one of the nymphs tempted by Chaos and together with her sister, Scylla, she was punished, albeit cruelly.
When mythical creatures fall, they retain most of their features; they simply become a darken state of their current being. Before Charybdis could fall, however, she was discovered and captured. Enraged, the Lords of the Element of Water cursed her to be forever faithful to the very Element she had vowed to serve. She was made to guard the Strait of Messina, one of the entrances to the watery realm of her Lords, alongside her sister. The curse turned her into a hideous monster - she looked very similar to an Angler Fish, though a thousand times larger and more ferocious. Her gape, filled with uncountable long, sharp teeth, is wide enough to swallow a vessel whole with ease. With a flick of her tail, she can cause a massive whirlpool to appear across the width of the entire strait, making sea travel extremely dangerous. Any vessel sunk by her whirlpool will be devoured by her. The magic of her curse is strong and till this day, she continues to serve the Element of Water faithfully.
Over the years, Charybdis has spawned many offsprings, who look no different when compared to their matron, though smaller in size. However, they are still large enough to wreck vessels. Although Charybdis is magically bound to the Strait of Messina, her offsprings are not. These Charybdises are offered to serve the Element of Water by Charybdis herself, who has come to acknowledge her mistake and seeks redemption.
These Charybdises are sent out to all the major oceans in the water, scouting for their Lords. Any vessel deemed unworthy or poses a threat to the Element of Water will be dealt with. Charybdises rely on their brute strength and ferocity, attacking these vessels and their enemies with their tails and heads. From the depths below, they rise towards their unsuspecting target, crashing upon them and engulfing them into their wide gapes, where their teeth will make short work of whatever they chomp down on.
