TIER 9
Like many other sea monsters, Tritones are hybrids; they are humanoids with the tails of sharks. Even parts of their bodies are covered with shark scales that are rough to the touch and can cut through flesh easily. Unlike their female counterparts the Mermaids, Tritones are not built for beauty and grace. The sleek, streamlined forms of their bodies are built for speed, agility and power.
These manly and vicious creatures are the many offsprings of the Greek God Triton. With the blood of the Gods in them, Tritones are powerful indeed. Like sharks, Tritones have superb senses. These heightened senses enable them to pinpoint the location of their enemies, as well as detecting subtle movements that might give away telltale signs of an incoming attack. The Tritones will then have a chance to evade these attacks easily, making them formidable foes in battle. Their hardened skin cause bleeding wounds on enemies, and they attack with much speed and ferocity, akin to frenzied sharks at feeding time. They are, however, not without brainpower.
Attacks by Tritones are organised. They can stand alone against an enemy one to one, but they often strategize and attack as a cohesive unit. Tritones also assist the Guardian of Water in battle formations and strategies, taking on the roles of field commanders in the absence of the Guardian. Each Tritone also carries a magical trident, a weapon favored by many under the Element of Water. A Tritone mostly uses a trident as a ranged weapon, spearing their enemies from afar. When called upon, the Trident will dislodge itself and return to the hands of its owner.
In times of peace, the Tritones still hold on to their stoic nature. While Mermaids frolick and the other mythical creatures beautify their homes with their magic, Tritones oversee all the fun and games silently. They play the roles of defenders in the watery realms they live in, patrolling the oceans and waterways, safeguarding their patrons as well as the Guardian.
