Frolicking in the surf, collecting sunken treasure and gazing towards land, hoping that one day, they will be out of the sea and walk amongst men - these descriptions of Mermaids are but a myth. Mermaids rarely rise to the surface of the ocean unless their homes are under attack. Mermaids spend all their time in the depths of the water, tending to the chores as required by the patrons they serve.

 

Mermaids are humanoids; however, their lower bodies resemble a tail of a fish. They have floral fins that are brightly colored, and they also often decorate themselves with coral, anemone and shells. They are graceful creatures, swimming fluidly in the waters. However, the red and green colors of their beautiful scales serve as a warning. Mermaids can be deadly if there is ever a need to be.

 

Mermaids are surprisingly strong at the frontlines of a battlefield. Like the Sirens, Mermaids have alluring voices. Unlike the Sirens, who use their voices to hypnotize, Mermaids paralyze the enemies with theirs. This allows enemies to be taken down with ease. Only the strong-minded and magically protected will be safe from the enchanting voices. Mermaids also deal physical attacks. Their tails lash out at enemies with great force, often causing concussions. Their claws tear at the flesh of their paralyzed enemies.

 

When there is no need for them to be in battle, Mermaids are generally peaceful and hardworking. They tend to the corals that decorate their homes, and they also aid the growth of ocean flora with their voices. Even shoals of fish will gather around to enjoy their singing. Mermaids also serve in the underwater courts of the Gods, waiting on their patrons and putting up performances.
