TIER 10

 

Unlike many of the Undead, especially the Skeletons and Zombies, Liches maintain control over their very being. They are definitely not mindless creations to be used by the Element of Dark. Instead, Liches are one of the high-ranking units in the Element of Dark, often leading the others to battle.

 

They were once alive, smart and powerful sorcerers who delved too deeply into dark magic and necromantic arts. They allow themselves to be transformed into their current state, a Lich that is neither living nor truly dead. They retain their powers, though they are twisted by the dark menacing magick they pursue so hard after, and their wisdom and cunning.

 

Liches are also famed for absorbing the life force of others. Unlike the Vampires, who do it to remain young and to retain their vigor, Liches absorb the life essence of their victims to obtain the power and knowledge that they might have. By doing so, Liches also regain their health, if their health have been affected in any way prior to this gruesome task.

 

Many would term the Lich a true Necromancer of the Dark Arts. The difference however, is very distinct. A Necromancer, as much as he loves dabbling in the necromantic arts, is still fully human. A Lich however, has but a skeletal form, a form that reveals how much he detests life and enjoys the unliving. He will do anything, sacrifice anything, to uncover more secrets of the Dark Arts.
