ZEUS Lord of the Skies (Greek / Roman)

As Zeus is the Lord of the Skies as well as the King of all Greek Gods and Goddesses, he is worshipped as a Patron of Air more often than as a Patron of Light. He took up the responsibilities of being Light's Patron only when Helios faded away, leaving his son Apollo with too much work to handle. With the realm of the Air secured by his other son Hermes, Zeus stepped down as the Lord of Air.

Zeus' dominance over Air does not end with just the control of air currents and flight - he is able to control the weather due to his ability to manipulate lightning and thunder. In this aspect, he is very much similar to Thor, another of Light's Patrons.

Unbeknownst to most, Zeus is one of the few Gods who take favor with mortals. He was against the gifting of fire to the mortals, but that was because he believed that mortals can grow only if they learn on their own. Whenever mortals are in danger, even if they are not his followers, Zeus has been known to guide and empower them. One great example is the creation of the Thunderbird to aid the armies of the Element of Light. Although he is a just God most of the time, his love for mortals (too much in fact) may cloud his judgment occasionally.

Zeus wields the
Jagged Lightning, a powerful lightning blade that allows Zeus to summon thunder and lightning with ease. The weapon is raw and sharp, crafted directly from pure lightning essence. In battle, the Jagged Lightning transforms into a powerful spear which Zeus uses expertly. The weapon hardly leaves his hands for Zeus is used to range combat: powerful lightning arcs out from the tip, striking down enemies even if they are too far away to be seen. The force of his lightning is so strong that it creates an electrical field, protecting him from physical assault even. As such, Zeus is lightly armored, trusting that his own abilities will be able to protect him. Even if he is ever in danger, a flap of his only wing will send his enemies flying away.

Zeus grants his followers infinite wisdom and the sharpness of mind. They will be ever alert and seek to learn constantly while safeguarding the interests of the Element of Light. Like their Patron, they are able to summon lightning to strike their foes as though Zeus' fury is upon them directly.
