TIER 6

The classification of a Water Elemental is a broad one, for across the mythological realm, there are many beings who are considered elemental protectors of the watery domains of the Gods. However, there is but only one being who is the very element they represent - the Undine.

Undines are humanoids, but they do not really have a physical body. Almost 99% of them are comprised of water, and the uniqueness of their watery bodies make it possible for them to exist in both freshwater and saltwater conditions. Undines are always the first creatures to notice whenever a particular body of water is corrupted. With their very essence, Undines are able to cleanse it. Their watery bodies also make them proficient at subterfuge, for they can sneak up on those they perceive to be a threat.

The remaining 1% of their composition would be things they decorate themselves with, such as pearls and kelp; after all, Undines are females, and they do want to pretty themselves up for the people they serve as well as those they flirt with. They also do envy the other water elementals, such as the Mermaids, who have a physical body. Therefore, they constantly seek to achieve one by falling in love with mortal men. This is why they are constantly prettying themselves up so that the mortals will take notice of these otherwise elusive creatures.

However, if an Undine falls in love only to have the mortal man turn unfaithful, she will kill him as an act of revenge. Every act of magic that is made can be undone, and a mortal Undine will want back her immortal life now that her love has been scorned. This turns the Undine into a dark force to be reckoned with, akin to the seas during a stormy night. In contrast, Undines who have never been in love before are warm, playful and frivolous, much like the ocean waves carrying a gentle summer breeze. They serve in the courts of the Gods, as well as providing healing aid to the armies of the Element of Water. The scorned Undines, on the other hand, battle for the Element of Water. They infiltrate the defenses of their enemies and cause a storm or a tempest within the ranks, allowing other creatures of their Element to cut down the scattered targets.
