SOBEK King of the Nile (Egyptian)

An aggressive and animalistic Patron of the Element of Water, Sobek is revered as the deity of the Nile River - the most prominent water source in all of Egypt, and therefore, is also seen as a major life force by all Egyptians. Sobek, however, is more than just the protector of the Nile River - he is the embodiment of the destructive force of the Nile when it rages, as well as the ferocity of the Nile Crocodile.

The Element of Water is a unique one, for it represents both a destructive force of nature, as well as a source of calm and peace; Water is destructive when it storms and rages, but it also heals and purifies. Sobek is often seen as the first part of the Element of Water, a powerful deity that is evil and unforgiving. When the Nile Crocodiles attack, or when the Nile River refuses to cooperate, threatening to overflow and destroy the land around it, people often attribute these to the wrath of Sobek. Sobek can command the Nile Crocodiles to do his bidding, for they are his sacred animals. Sobek is also famed for curses and pestilence, withholding the life-saving force of the Nile, causing devastation to crops and farmland. Sobek, however, is more than just a savage God.

Sobek only slaughters those who do not pay proper respect to the Nile, and those who vilify his power and his status as a patron of the Element of Water. More often than not, Sobek quenches the parched land with the Nile and his sacred creatures will also not harm the farmers that use the Nile to irrigate their lands. As such, Sobek is also seen as a God of Fertility. Sobek also uses the waters of the Nile to heal the injured and cure the sick. His followers are blessed with such powers as well - they go all over the world, healing the people and the land of whatever sickness they suffer from. They can also turn this restorative force into one that causes massive destruction, to be used against the enemies of Sobek and the Element of Water. His followers are also blessed with much invulnerability. They are tougher than most people and they are immune to most diseases and curses - people have claimed that just brushing against them causes abrasion, and in some cases, severe cuts, for their skin is as tough and scaly as that of a crocodile's.

Despite the good that Sobek and his followers do, there is ample reason for people to fear them. Sobek fights like a seasoned warrior, sending enemies scattering with his horrifying visage. He wears little armor, for his skin is tough and he has no fear of being hurt by weapons. He carries a halberd called Jagged Tooth, that has the power and force of a crocodile's snapping jaws. It cuts through monsters and armor with ease, and it is constantly kept sharp and powerful with the blood of its enemies. He is also flanked by an entourage of his sacred animals, which fight as ferociously as their Patron - the King of the Nile.
