TIER 3

Telchines are weird creatures, even by the standards of mythical monsters. Instead of proper, flexible limbs, Telchines have flippers. They also have heads that resemble that of dogs, while their slender bodies are shaped and colored like sea lions. They are cumbersome on land, shifting about on their webbed feet awkwardly. In water, Telchines transform into acrobats, weaving through the dark waters like a needle through silk. This speed and agility underwater makes them formidable aquatic adversaries.

However, these are not the traits that make them fearsome. Records by the Ancient Guardians tell of a time when the Telchines - together with the Cyclopes - created the weapons of the Gods. While it was the Cyclopes who forged these mighty weapons and made them indestructible, it was the Telchines who designed and crafted them, imbuing these weapons with the most powerful and deadly of magicks. Their knowledge of the arcane, combined with their expansive knowledge of metallurgy, caused many to see them as dangerous - and their worry was not for naught. Misusing their abilities, the Telchines wrecked havoc and were almost consumed by Chaos until the Gods stepped in, killing many of them. The rest were cast out into exile, having much of their magical prowess stripped away.

Millenia have passed since that fateful time, and the descendants of these powerful and fearsome creatures have continued to remain in exile. But even as Chaos threatens to disrupt the delicate balance of the cosmos, the Gods have now sought the skills of the Telchines once more, giving them one final chance to prove themselves. Despite no longer having as much magic as their predecessors, the Telchines are still superb craftsmen and they fight savagely with tooth and claw. Banding under the banner of the Element of Water, this new generation of Telchines have vowed to keep their watery domains safe, and restore the honor of their race once again.
